The Association for Improvements in Maternity Services is a voluntary organisation who exist to provide independent information and support for women making maternity choices. They provide a newsletter for members, engage in campaign work, and provide information and support to individual women.
Doula UK
Doula UK is the non-profit association for doulas in the UK. Not all doulas are registered with DUK, but choosing a DUK doula means you can expect a certain level of training and experience in your doula.
Birthrights
Birthrights exists to protect the Human Rights of women in childbirth in the UK. They believe that all women are entitled to respectful maternity care that protects their fundamental rights to dignity, autonomy, privacy and equality, and engage in campaigning work and individual support.
La Leche League
LLL provides friendly breastfeeding support from pregnancy onwards. Regular meetings are held around the country, where mums can offer support to each other. LLL Leaders also offer individual support to mums who are having difficulties breastfeeding, and there is a national telephone number for anyone (mums, dads or partners, family and professionals) with questions about breastfeeding.
